Rory Lawson Will Be Joining Us on Tour!

When going on a rugby tour it is always nice to have a familiar face to help guide you. Rory Lawson, former Scotland captain, Gloucester, Edinburgh, Newcastle and Barbarians scrum half, will join us on tour for at least the first two weeks. Having played in two Rugby World Cups, Rory will provide an excellent insight into what it takes to compete in one. A real character, we are delighted to have Rory with us again.

The Zen Tour includes the two quarter-finals on Scotland’s side of the draw where they could face South Africa or New Zealand in what is sure to be an awesome battle. Ireland could potentially be the other team to come out of Pool A and you can see our Celtic neighbours play their quarter-final too!

Do you want to see Scotland’s opening matches of Rugby World Cup 2019? Book our Shogun Tour to see the huge clash between Scotland and Ireland in the first match of Pool A in Tokyo. This will almost certainly decide who tops the Pool. After this you will then travel along the Ancient Samurai Way where you will stay in a traditional Japanese ryokan. This is then followed by three nights in stunning Kyoto. You will then travel to Kobe for Scotland’s second Pool A match against play-off winners Samoa. A great rugby and cultural tour!

Japan Ambassador

Rob Penney is the exclusive RWC 2019 Japan Ambassador to Rugby Travel Scotland. For the last four years Rob has been living in Japan as the head coach of leading Japanese team NTT and was previously head coach of Munster for two years, head coach to Canterbury Rugby in New Zealand and the New Zealand U20 head coach. His knowledge of Japanese rugby and Japan as a country is invaluable. Robs insights into Japan will enhance our tours even further.
